Who is Heart 'n Soul?

Audiences will think they have stepped back in time when they hear the tunes of yesteryear from the 50s and 60s. Heart 'n Soul offers its audiences a toe tapping, hand clapping, and shag dancing good time.

Musicians in the band Heart 'n Soul have played with the best; now they are bringing their best to South Carolina. Several members are listed in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Macon, Ga. Some have backed up legends such as Aretha Franklin, Billy Stewart, The Temptations, Chicago, and Stevie Wonder. Within the group, the members have performed with over 25 bands. All have had careers ranging from CPAs to park ranger, but they have continued their love of 50s and 60s music by performing with various bands over the years.

Heart 'n Soul is unique because it is a nonprofit organization dedicated to playing 50s and 60s rhythm and blues for charity. The members schedule a limited number of events each year and consider each opportunity on an individual basis.

Since the band’s inception in 2008, Heart ‘n Soul has become Columbia’s premier 50’s and 60’s R&B and Doo Wop dance band!  A nonprofit organization “Having Fun Giving Back,” Heart ‘n Soul has helped charities raise $3.5 Million and has directly contributed more than $300,000 to local charities.  Heart ‘n Soul has been awarded the GROUP CHAMPION AWARD for BEST OF PHILANTHROPY by the CENTRAL CAROLINA COMMUNITY FOUNDATION and the COMMUNITY BUILDERS AWARD from MUNGO HOMES in partnership with WIS-TV.

Join Heart 'N Soul for a FREE Virtual Concert on Friday, October 2, 2020 at 7:00 pm EST sponsored by Clark's Termite & Pest Control and South State Bank. We will be broadcasting on Facebook from the Koger Center For The Arts in downtown Columbia, SC. We'll be playing all your favorites from the 50's & 60's. It's going to be a toe tapping, hand clapping, shag dancing good time! And ALL proceeds will benefit Hilinski's Hope. Hilinski's Hope (H3H) was founded in 2018 by Mark & Kym Hilinksi to honor the life of their son Tyler. His brother, Ryan is the University of South Carolina's quarterback. H3H helps colleges and universities save lives, eliminate stigma, and scale mental wellness programs for student-athletes. H3H does this by sharing Tyler’s story, connecting students with mental health resources, and assisting universities to institutionalize best practices.
