Who is Heart 'n Soul?

Audiences will think they have stepped back in time when they hear the tunes of yesteryear from the 50s and 60s. Heart 'n Soul offers its audiences a toe tapping, hand clapping, and shag dancing good time.

Musicians in the band Heart 'n Soul have played with the best; now they are bringing their best to Columbians. Several of the members are listed in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Macon, Ga. Some have backed up legends such as Aretha Franklin, Billy Stewart, The Temptations, Chicago, and Stevie Wonder. Within the group, the members have played and sung with over 25 bands. All have had careers ranging from CPAs to park ranger, but they have continued their love of 50s and 60s music by performing with various bands over the years.

Heart 'n Soul is unique because it is a nonprofit organization dedicated to playing 50s and 60s rhythm and blues for charity. The members schedule a limited number of events each year and consider each opportunity on an individual basis.

Since the band’s inception in 2008, HEART ‘N SOUL has become Columbia’s premier 50’s and 60’s R&B and Doo Wop dance band!  A nonprofit organization “Having Fun Giving Back,” Heart ‘n Soul has helped charities raise $2.5 Million and has directly contributed $200,000 to local charities.  HEART ‘N SOUL has been awarded the GROUP CHAMPION AWARD for BEST OF PHILANTHROPY by the CENTRAL CAROLINA COMMUNITY FOUNDATION and the COMMUNITY BUILDERS AWARD from MUNGO HOMES in partnership with WIS-TV.

Beach Ball Summer Dance

Lourie Center, 1650 Park Circle, Columbia, South Carolina

On Friday August 3, 2018 from 7-10:30 pm, the Lourie Center will present a summer dance concert featuring R & B band Heart ‘n Soul. This event is open to the public for adults of all ages. Bring your friends, put on your dancing shoes and get ready to shag, swing and rock to the classic hits of the 1950s and 60s. Heart ‘n Soul brings their musical talents to the stage and will wow you with their soulful, energizing performance.

Doors open at 6 pm. BYOB and snacks; Soft drinks and ice will be available for purchase.

Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Open seating. Reserved tables are available with a single purchase of six or more tickets.
